Causes and main events of World War II

World War II in Europe began because of Adolf Hitler’s ideas. He believed that Germans were superior to all the other races. He thought that to have more power they needed more land to provide to a larger population. In 1920 he said that the Nazis were going to find land on the east. They conquered the Soviet Union and used the Slavic people as slaves. He wanted to dominate Europe. It was after the Treaty of Versailles that they limited Germany’s military power. Hitler kept on bringing up the past saying that they were treated unfairly and that Germans only want peace with the other European states. In 1935, Hitler announced a creation of a new air force. Germany’s army expanded from 100,000 to 550,000 troops. He had violated the Treaty of Versailles. Right away, France, Great Britain, and Italy warned Germany’s action against any future aggressive acts. Europe was also going through a great depression which didn’t help. Hitler was so sure that Western Europe was not going to use their force to maintain the Treaty of Versailles. In 1939 he sent German troops to Rhineland which, according to the Treaty of Versailles, was an area where no weapons or fortifications were allowed. Hitler began to get new allies such as Benito Mussolini from Italy. In 1935 Mussolini’s forces invaded Ethiopia, of course France and Britain were against this action. In 1936 Hitler and Mussolini made an agreement saying that they had mutual interests. In 1936 Germany and Japan signed an Anti-Communist pact, promising the same fight against communism. In 1938 Hitler followed his goal which was to unite to his Native land, Austria. He threatened Austria with invasion, so he forced Austrian leadership to put Austrian Nazi’s in charge of the government. Hitlers next objective was to destroy Czechoslovakia. In 1938 he demander Sudetenland which was an area in Czechoslovakia that was inhabited by many Germans and in the end his German troops were allowed to occupy Sudetenland.

Can you tell me what happened next? What do you know
