Fire of Rome

(april blog)

Nero’s most famous event was the Fire of Rome. This event happened in 64 BC. Nero was in Actium when the fire occurred, but it is believed that he was responsible for it. The fire spread and raged furiously over Rome for 9 days. When he came back, he rebuilt the city. It is believed that he set the fire to make the city the way he wanted it, with new buildings. Since he dislikes the Christians, he decided to blame the fire on them.

Good work! You are right, the great fire lasted for 9 days, and when Nero came back to Rome he started to rebuild it. When people started to blame the fire on him, he blamed it on Christians.
