End of the Republic

Post  David Strauss on Thu Apr 16, 2015 10:18 am

The Republic was Rome's unique way of government. This ended after the 2nd triumvirate when Octavian (Augustus Caesar) became the first Emperor. He was a great leader like Julius Caesar because he crates a great military. In was with 28 Legions (151,000 men) that is composed of 5,000 Troops. He rebuilt many ruined temples to honor the god. Augustus died in 14BC and he was in chief for 45BC. From that day on, Rome was now ruled by Emperors. Very Happy

Great job, David! Before Rome was an empire, it had a long time of being a republic, then a triumvirate, and just then an empire. The first emperor was Augustus Caesar, also known as Octavian, who became emperor after defeating Antony and Cleopatra VII at war.

David what you wrote about the end of the republic was a little confusing, but you wrote who were involve. The thing I don’t understand was how the republic is the unique government if a triumvirate was another type of government also. Something you could have added about Julius Caesar was that he was considering being a God after his death. Still what you wrote was good, but next times write your thoughts clearly. Very Happy
