The Coliseum was built on top of the golden city of Nero. Nero built that city after the great fire happened. The coliseum was the work of Vespasian and his children. The coliseum was one o the greatest architectural work at that time. It had a system to elevate animals to the stadium and a roof system to use when it is really hot outside. The elevation system was hidden underneath the ground. The Coliseum was built to entertain the people in Rome. They killed many Christians there and animals went extinct because of that, this activity made everyone collaborate together. Very Happy

Great topic David! I think that it is horrible how many people and animals were killed in the Colosseum. I can't believe that for the Romans this was entertainment. Good job! Very Happy
