The Coliseum was built on top of the golden city of Nero. Nero built that city after the great fire happened. The coliseum was the work of Vespasian and his children. The coliseum was one o the greatest architectural work at that time. It had a system to elevate animals to the stadium and a roof system to use when it is really hot outside. The elevation system was hidden underneath the ground. The Coliseum was built to entertain the people in Rome. They killed many Christians there and animals went extinct because of that, this activity made everyone collaborate together. Very Happy

David what you wrote about the Coliseum was really descriptive. You mention how they made a complex pulley which elevated animals from underneath the ground. Another thing also you mention how they kept the Coliseum not that hot with its architecture. At last what you have said was really good but next time mention how they took away some of its stones to make the St. Peters.
