Julius Caesar (100 BC-44 BC)

Post  rosim. on Thu Apr 16, 2015 9:57 am

During Julius Caesar's time in Gaul he gained fame and military experience. Caesar was always willing to face great danger. Now had a powerful army of veterans loyal to him. Fearing Caesar's popularity, leading senators decided that Pompey should rule alone. They voted that Caesar lay down his command and return to Rome as a private citizen. This was unacceptable to Caesar, as it would have left vulnerable to his enemies. He choose to keep his army and moved into Italy by illegally crossing the Rubicon river. Caesar marched on Rome, starting a civil war between his forces and those of Pompey. After defeating Pompey's forces, Caesar was in complete control of the Roman government.

Good work, Rosi!! Julius Caesar was great emperor. The people adored him, especially the poor. The poor people loved him the most because he gave back the land to them and he treated them better than he treated the tich. When Julius Caesar was in power, Rome was a high point.

Rosi what you wrote about the ruling of Julius Caesar from (100BC-44BC) was really interesting. You talked about how he gained fame and honor from how he beat Gaul. Another thing that was important that you wrote was how he fought against Pompey and the senate because he passed the Rubicon River; who they told him not to. Something you should have added was how he became a dictator until they assassinated him and how he gave back the lands to the farmers. Still what wrote about Julius Caesar was good. Very Happy
