Post  Romane D. on Mon Apr 06, 2015 2:10 am

John Dillinger was one of the most famous bank robbers in history. He was born in 1903, Indiana and was killed in 1934. John had a very difficult childhood because his mother died when he was 3 years old. His older sister moved after she got married a couple years after, which meant the John was left alone with his father. As he was growing he became more and more of a rebel, he began to shoplift and he was stealing coal from train cars and he would sell it to his neighbors. He was known as “Jackrabbit”. t was in 1924 that he robbed a grocery store, he got caught and put in jail. He escaped with his gang, and they went to Chicago were they put together the most dangerous and organized bank robbing gangs in the United States. His entire band was arrested but Dillinger continued communing crimes until he was shot by the FBI in 1934.

John Dillinger served in the Navy, he spent most of his adult life in prison. Not only did he robe banks, but he helped bust his fellow gang members of out of jail. He also robed police stations. Interesting topic Romane. What made you so interested in this rebel?

Interesting, I always believed that most of the people that have psychological problems had some kind of an upsetting even that occurred in the childhood, like the death of the loved one. How was he able to escape when his gang was caught?

Like Lisa, I wonder what made him so dedicated to shoplifting and thievery. It couldn't have been the sole motivation of money... In total, he robbed 24 banks and 4 police stations. Wow! I personally think he had a certain aversion to authority, and that is why he planned attacks on police stations as well. Most thieves would avoid such places, if you think about it. Interesting topic, keep up the good work! Smile
