Geography of Rome

Post  dashas on Thu Mar 26, 2015 9:58 am

Geography played an important role in the development of Rome. The fertile soil of Italy gave people the opportunity to grow crops and support large population. The placement of Rome was quite favorable; it had a rough to the sea and it was easy to defend since it was built on the 7 hills. Rome located in the center of Italian peninsula, which let it expand. The Apennines, mountain range going through the land of Italy did not divide Roe into isolated communities which let people communicate between each other easily and develop as a nation.

Great job, Dasha!!! It is true. The geography of Rome had a lot to do with its success like the fertile soil and it is because of that fertile soil that they grow a lot of crops. Also, because it is located on 7 hills it is hard for people to invade.

Great job, Dasha! You are very correct; Rome's geography played a huge role in its success within the years. In many places its like this, but it had a huge support and advancement for Rome. Since Rome had a good location, what it produced and how they gained money was easier than what was expected.

Dasha your topic is really descriptive because you mention about how its land fertile, the water goes out not in, its cental location, and the natural protection which is the Seven Hills. Something good that you said was how their communities aren't isolated so they would awalys contribute with each other. At last what you have said was really good.
