Industrial Revolution 1

Post  Vasilisa on Tue Mar 03, 2015 9:32 am

The industrial revolution began in Britain in 1780. Before the Industrial Revolution, people worked in their homes, cottage industries, although in a while they had to move to the cities since that was were the factories were build. The had to move if the wanted jobs, because back at urban areas, there were no jobs. The factories and the machines were made from iron, and burned down coal. The biggest improvements of Industrial Revolution 1 were the textile and seed drill. Textile were the clothing and seed drill was this machine that allowed to plant seeds faster with less work. This allowed for work to be done faster and in bigger quantities.

While it is true urbanization helped modernize society, it also marked the start of mass pollution. Factories have been contaminating Earth's atmosphere since then, resulting in quite horrifying conditions. In China, most days the people can't even tell what whether it is -- whether it is sunny or cloudy -- for the smog makes the people unable to see.

Lisa your topic is very interesting. Something about the Industrial Revolution that no one should ever forget is that it lead to child labor and the suffering of many people. People were so poor that they had no other choice but to work in the harshest conditions in the factories. They would get beat up and they couldn't even talk or complain. They would get paid very poorly and with the money they received they could only buy products from the factory that they worked in. Of course the industrial revolution was very good like you have mentioned its positive sides. The inventions have revolutionized our entire world.

Girls I so agree with you. People don't notice how much people have to work just to gain everyday things like food or clothes. Even nowadays thats a gigantic problem that effects the worlds population.
