Cuneiform

Post  Roberta2000 on Sun Feb 08, 2015 2:39 pm

Cuneiform is the Sumerian writing. It was the first writing style. Cuneiform means wedge-shaped. The first schools were set up in Sumer over 4,000 years ago. Scribes were those who graduated after 12 years of studying in school and became professional writers of Cuneiform. Scribes used a sharp point called stylus.

Great job, Roberta! What you said is very true, indeed. Not only that, but cuneiform was a very hard system of writing to learn and it took 12 years to just learn how to write it. Only some people actually learned and became scribes. They were the only ones that could then send messages to the kings and such. Just imagining this, it must have been so hard…..

Great job, Roberta!!! Your topic was ver interesting and true. Its amazing how you could remember it so well, since we learned this at the start of the year. Cuneiform was the first type of writing to have ever been made in this world and it was very hard to write in cuneiform, so people lasted years learning.
