Oedipus Rex is a story, or a play, that was originally written in ancient Greece. All three plays have the same setting and time and down below are some facts about these plays, not story.
Time and place written: Antigone is believed to have been written around 441 b.c., Oedipus the King ruled at around 430 b.c., and it was written in Oedipus at Colonus sometime near the end of Sophocles’ life in 406–405 b.c. The three plays were all written and produced in Athens, Greece.
Date of first publication: The plays were probably circulated in manuscript at around the fifth-century B.C. in Athens and have been translated and recreated with the help of people that have studied ancient Greece, ancient Alexandria, and medieval Europe.
Publisher: There is no known publisher of the original copy. The most important modern edition of the Greek texts was published by Oxford University Press in 1924 and reprinted with corrections in 1928.
Tone: it has a tragic tone.
Tense: it is written in present
