The Titanic

The R.M.S. Titanic was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Ireland. It was designed to be the largest ship to ever sail on seas and took 3000 men and a total of 3 years to build, at a cost of 7.5 million dollars. As we all know, and have heard the story, the Titanic was hit by an iceberg and unfortunately sunk. An immense amount of people died…it was a very tragic event.

As unbelievable as it may seem, there were survivors. Out of about 3.5 thousand people, not even a fifth survived. On May 31, 2009 the last survivor of the Titanic, Millvina Dean, died at the age of 97. She was only nine weeks old and the youngest passenger on board. Somehow, she still managed to live the sinking of the boat.

The Titanic was an amazing movie. It is really sad the fact that her lover had to die. I think this movie was voted as one of the most sad and depressing movies.
