The Iliad

The Iliad was a Greek epic poem written by Homer. the poem was dedicated during the Trojan War which was a ten year war held in the city of Troy. the war was between many states of Greece. It tells us about the battle of the king Agamemnon and the argument with the warrior Achilles.
The Iliad is always mentioning many of the Greek legends. much of the epic poem talks about what caused the war and how it ended up the way it was.
Along with the Odyssey, the Iliad is among the oldest amazing works of Western literature. The Iliad contains 15,693 lines; it is written in Homeric Greek, Oflonic Greek and other dialects.

Nice work, Volney! Good information given. Homer was a blind poet, so he didn't write anything down.
