Darius

Post  dashas on Tue Nov 25, 2014 3:11 pm

Darius was Cyrus' grandson. he strengthened the Persian government and divided the empire into 20 provinces, or satrapies. He made every satrap rule one one those province, but the straps were not only Persian people. He did it to prevent the wars against him, so people do not have reasons to fight. After his rule, Persian Kings became isolated at their courts surrounded by wealth.

Nice job Dasha! Darius showed great mercy, just like Cyrus, when they conquered new places. Did you know that he invaded the Greek mainland? He also extended his empire to the Indus River. Great topic! Very Happy

Darius was a very great ruler. The Persian empire grew strong with Darius as his leader. The armies grew stronger and the provinces were divided making the empire more organized. Your topic was very interesting, Dasha.

Good job and also, what you said is very true. Darius was Cambyses son, as well as Cyrus the Great’s grandson. Not only did he create these things, he also brought Persia to its highest point in history. He did some amazing things to his ruling and contributed many things. He was either their greatest or one of their greatest rulers.
