Aztecs (Part 2)

Post  Joshua T on Mon Nov 17, 2014 11:01 pm

The Aztec god of war and sun was called Huitzilopochtli the Aztecs believed unless Huitzilopochtli received sacrifices he would lead the Aztecs to their promise land. In A.D 1325 the Aztecs arrive in the north western part of Mexico and the south western part of the United States and their capitol was Tenochtitlan. 200,000 people were too big for 5 square miles of land so they built floating gardens which they could build houses on when the roots grew in the soil under the lake. Two interesting this is that each calpulli had a school and temple it was like being divided into sections. The Aztecs are so advanced on architecture they even built a dam so it did not over flood.

I love it how old tribes believed in gods. I find it super interesting to read all different fables about different goods, and even though its not scientifically it can teach you a moral.
