Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade

The Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was one part of the Triangular Trade called the Middle Passage. This was when after the Europeans traded their new technology to the Africans they took the people that they obtained from that trade across to the Americas to make them do hard labor for free (become slaves). Even though slave trade was still occurring in Africa before the Europeans arrived, it became a lot worse when they did. Between 1650 and 1860 between 10 to 15 million slaves were sent from Africa to the Americas causing a dramatic population decrease in Africa and a dramatic population increase in the Americas. However, the Slave Trade did not just simply start of at a large number, the numbers of people shipped became more dramatic as time when on and the amount of countries that wanted the African slaves increased as well. The first boat of slaves that went to the Americas was in 1518.

I find it terrifying how horrible humans can be to each other just do have more power, land, or wealth. The population decreased tremendously and people started to loose faith in their gods because what was happening to them was a night mare. I think your topic was really good and had interesting details!
