The triangular trade

Post  Gloria H. on Thu Oct 09, 2014 11:50 am

The Triangular Trade was a system in which slaves, crops, and manufactured goods were traded between Africa, the Americas, and Europe. Africa- slaves, The Americas traded gold (raw materials), sugar, and Europe manufactured and styled the raw materials, and would bring guns and other goods and developed raw materials from the Americas. The people who most benefited most from this trade was Europe because they did not have to give up people like the Africans or give raw materials from their land like the Americans but instead they got money from both parts. This Existed in Africa before the coming of the Europeans, Portuguese replaced European slaves with Africans and Between the 16 and 19th century and estimated 10-13 million Africans shipped to the Americas.

The fact that Europeans did that in the past is cruel! There were millions of Africans that were treated so badly, in really bad conditions, they were forced in doing extremely harsh work and they were separated from their families and their culture. Millions of Africans died because of being exposed to such hard conditions, as they were being transported to go from continent to continent, they were all really squished and tied up around their neck, arms, and legs. They were really uncomfortable and the ones who were “too weak” and would die were thrown over board. This triangular trade had positive and negative out comes. The positive out comes were that the Europeans and the Americas were wealthy and it also opened up peoples mind about how trading worked and important things that are now needed in life. Keep up the good work glooo <3

The first slaves they used were the natives from the land they conquered and they treated them super bad so they started to die really fast. As you said afterwards they brought slaves from Africa and they were treated super badly too, like a cattle.
