What is Lutheranism

Post  Belinda K. on Tue Oct 07, 2014 8:16 pm

Lutheranism was the first protestant faith. This name came from Martin Lither's last name. He had a few teachings to make the bible believes how they are supposed to be. He was against the Catholic Church, other people started to join and protest together. Also one thing that helped a lot Luther was, while the years he was stuck in the castle he made copies of the bible and translated it to German so the people could understand.

He started his protest when popes started selling indulgences. He said that in the bible it didn't say that it was normal to do than and he believed that the people cant go to heaven by paying for it and that if they would have given the money to the people in need there would have been a bigger chance of them going to heaven. He started the protest by posting 95 thesis on the door of the church.
