The Elizabethan settlement, was like a bible that combined both Protestant and Catholic practices, so that England had a common ground, and it would not be Protestant against Catholics. The church was used much for catholic ceremony and ritual. Elizabeth used all her skill to restore England, she became the supreme governor. in 1559 the act of supremacy went through the parliament, that goes against all anti- protestants. In 1559 Elizabeth introduced the act of uniformity, which set the order of prayer to be used in the English Book of Common Prayer. in the act it said everyone had to go to church once a week or they will be fined 12 pence. She made it a legal obligation to go to church every Sunday. this act reinforced the act of supremacy.

Although she was a good queen, if she was to rule nowadays I don't think a lot of people would like her because of her tax on going or not going to Church. I think people would probably start a revolution or something.
