World War I Beginning

Post  Omeara on Thu Sep 25, 2014 11:33 pm

It mainly started because of the Austrian, Archduke Franz Ferdinand. When they assassinated him, Austria declared war on Serbia and that is when the Russians started to join by defending Serbia. Germany also wanted to defend their allies, so they protected Austria. Everything started to go crazy after this because France wanted to help the Russians, so they declared war on Germany. Germany wanted to get to France so they destroyed Belgium, making the Britain declare war on Germany.

I didn't know a lot about WW1, but you explained the beginning of it in a great way. The summary on how WW1 started is brief, but it is also understandable. You chose a nice topic. Good Job!!
