Religion of Mesopotamia

Post  rosim. on Sun Sep 21, 2014 1:53 pm

History is a very interesting class. I have learned many things from it. The topic that I chose for the student blog is the religion of Mesopotamia. The Mesopotamians believed that there was more than 3,000 Gods and goddesses. They didn't believe in only one God, but they believe in many gods which means that they were polytheistic (believing in many gods).
They had a special place were they would worship the gods, it was in a ziggurat which is a temple. They all believed that the goddesses were the ones who ruled the cities. It was ruled by a monarchy and for that they would say that it was the gods that made them want to be the king.

Great post, Rosi! I think that Religion of Mesopotamia is a really interesting topic. Did you know that Sumerians believed that a person must keep the god happy by praying to them in the ziggurat.? They believed that the god would reward them for good service. They also believed that the god would punish people who made them angry.
