Florence during the Renaissance

Post  Romane D. on Thu Sep 11, 2014 11:03 pm

Historians refer the 15th century Florence as the nucleus of the Renaissance because it was one of the greatest trading areas, where a lot of rich merchant bought and traded a lot of paintings. Florence produced a dazzling number of gifted poets, artists, architects, scholar, and scientist in a short amount of time. Florence was the only city that symbolized the energy and brilliance of the Renaissance. The city had the best economy, and its writers, architect, philosopher, and painters made Florence a model of Renaissance culture. It had a population of 60,000 and was a self-governed independent city-states. The reason why historians referred Florence as the “nucleus” of the Renaissance, it is because everything emerged in this city thanks to it’s great influence, successful painters and architects, and amazing history.

The popularity of Florence attracted more and more artists, writers and other peoples with many talents. This increased to popularity further. Florence must have been amazing back then, even more than it is now! Great post.

Florence was the greatest city of the Renaissance. So many talented artists lived there. So much art, so much history in just one city. Amazing!

Florence was also the main center of trade during the Renaissance and had trade routes connecting to many different countries all around Europe and even parts of Asia.
