In 1942, Stalin invited the U.S. ambassador to watch a movie "Volga, Volga". The ambassador liked the film, and Stalin thought that President Roosevelt might like, it too, so he sent a copy to him. Roosevelt saw the movie and did not understand why Stalin sent thins to him. Then he asked to translate the lyrics. When the song, dedicated to the steamer " Sevruga", was translated, it soinded like this: "America gave the Russians a ship : / Steam from nose, weels from behind, / And terriblly and horriblly, / And horribly slow movement ,". When Roosevelt saw the translations, he exclaimed, "Now I understand! Stalin blames us for a slow army movement, for what we still have not opened the second front."
Talk about missunderstanding...

Here's just a tiny fact:
Poland was conquered in 28 days.
In Stalingrad, for 29 days, the Germans took a few houses. And in the next 38 days, the Nazis moved from one side of the street to the other.
