Post  CicelyS on Mon Apr 28, 2014 7:40 pm

The Great Depression, as many of you might already know, is a period in time where Western industrialized world went through a massive economic downturn. It lasted from 1929-1939, a whole decade! During this time, thousands and thousands of people lost their jobs. The Great Depression all began after the stock market crash in 1929. Throughout the years, prices kept rising and people kept losing their jobs. Unemployment was higher than ever during this time. By 1930, 4 million Americans looking for work could not find it; that number had risen to 6 million in 1931. Luckily, leading up to 1939 prices were settled and many people got their jobs back and an end was put to the Great Depression.
