Fire is the combustion or burning in which substances combine chemically with oxygen from the air and usually give out bright light, heat, and smoke. The use of fire and the ability of human beings to control it has dramatically impacted people all over the world. In modern times, fire is used all over the world because it generates heat and light therefore making it possible for people to cook food. The heat produced by fire also helps people stay warm in cooler climates in countries like Canada where it snows most of the year, and it also provides a standard source of illumination.
Not only is fire used for cooking food and keeping people warm in cold climates, over the years humans discovered many ways to use fire to their benefit. Setting fuel aflame releases usable energy. Wood is a prehistoric fuel! In the time of the early humans they used wood to make fire and in some places today, wood is still used to make fire. When you go camping people make a fire with dry wood, sit around it and enjoy the warmth of it while flavoring marshmallows and singing camp songs or telling scary stories. Through-out the year’s people began using fossil fuels such as petroleum, natural gas and coal and according to the International Energy Agency, about 80 percent of the world’s power come from these sources. In a power station, fire is used to heat water which creates steam that drives turbines. The turbines then spin an electric generator that produces electricity.
It is not exactly clear when fire was first discovered by humans, but signs of burnt remains are the cause of historians to believe that the Homo erectus were the first humans to be able to control fire and use it to their advantage, dating back approximately 1,000,000-300, 000 years ago.

The Homo-Erectus were said to be the first Early Humans to discover and learn how to control and use fire. WHen you think of fire, you dont think about what it can actually do and is capable of. Its a very rare and weird thing on Earth.
