Mount Everest

Post  CicelyS on Thu Apr 10, 2014 9:43 am

Mount Everest is the worlds highest mountain located in the Himalayas. Its peak is 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) above sea level which means that near the peak the air would get very thin, making it an extremely difficult mountain to hike. The name was given by English officers. They couldn't access it's name from the people of Nepal or Tibet because those countries didn't allow foreigners to enter. The original name is: Sagarmatha or Chomolungma. The first person to climb the mountain was made by a group of British Mountaineers. There are many mysteries of people who have gone up the mountain never to return.

When you get at a higher peak of the mountain will it have more pressure, like the same affect if you are diving under the water?

Mount Everest seems like a really fun place to go and visit if you life mountain climbing and such. Maybe if you dont want to go all the way to the top, you would still be able to climb about halfway maybe and it would still be incredible and VERY high.
