Pheidippidies

Post  frankiesmith28 on Mon Jan 27, 2014 8:10 pm

The battle between Athens and Persia ended in the victory or the Athenians. A runner called Pheidippides ran all the way from Marathon to Athens in 2 hours. After running all that distance, he collapsed on the floor and with his last breath he told the Athenians that they won the battle. He also told them that the Persians were coming to attack them. He died straight after he said it.

There is not much that could be said about him! He was a greek messenger that ran 26 miles non stop to inform Athens that the had won the battle between the Persian Empire. Right after he informed the Athenians that they had won the battle he died. Do you think he was mythological or do you think that he was real? Why? Is there enough evidence to show that he was real?

There is not proof exactly other than the fact that he is in all the stories, and also how else would the Athenians known that the persians were going to invade Athens.
