Alexander the Great

Post  maddie on Sat Mar 30, 2013 12:58 am

Alexander the Great was definitely one of the most impressive and successful conquerors in world history. He was a military genius who took over much more than he expected, not just running italy smoothly but taking over the entire persian empire. Maybe it was the genetic gift passed down from his father, Philip II who had an extensive knowledge of military tactics.
Alexander the great as some had said was sent from the gods. Sent to do his work and prepare all the new comings in the future and once his deed was done he shall die. Ironically enough that is exactly how it played out. By the age of 25 he had conquered 99% of the known world. Alexander led his virtually invincible Greek and Macedonian armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years, and by the time of his death at the age of 32 had forged an empire unlike any the world had ever seen. Later just dying at the age of 33. He was one of the most amazing conqueres ever to walk the earth.

Yes, I agree, it is a fascinating subject. He definitely was one of the major people who were responsible for forging the great Roman empire that we reference and marvel at today. He was very influential throughout history with his war tactics, which many tried to mimic throughout history. There is no denying that he was a military genius.
