In April 29, 1961(when he was 27 years old ) Doctor of sixth Soviet Antarctic expedition ,Leonid Rogozov felt weakness and pain in the right iliac region and that his temperature increased i. In the absence of other doctors in the station he made a diagnosis to himself- acute appendicitis - and decided to do surgery to remove the appendix by himself, because there was no way to fly out of the station. Rogozov assisted by two employees who passed him tools and held the mirror beside his stomach . After 1 hour and 45 minutes Rogozov did all the work and successfully completed the operation.

A great topic, Настя. Yes, he really did an incredible job. What if he just ate something wrong? Oh, I can't imagine cutting myself. I'm afraid of vaccinations, not talking about something like that.
