Triangular trade

Post  maddie on Sun Oct 07, 2012 10:03 pm

Triangular trade was the trade that went on between Europe, Africa, and The Americas. Many of the good Europe found in the americas were completely new to Europe. Europeans took good from the Americas and manufactured them, then they proceeded to cell them back to the Americas, Africa, and around Europe. Many cultural advances took place during this trade. The Americas and Europe became very wealthy wile Africa wasn't doing the same. Europeans were taking Africans as slaves over to the Americas to work the land. The natives to the Americas were not as obedient as the Europeans wanted so they turned to Africa instead. Africans were being shipped by the thousands over seas. Many of them died on the way there. By the end of the slave trade millions of slavs had been transported. They were treated worse then animals. No human being should ever have to endure what they had to.
There were many advantages to the trading that went on but at the same time there was also so much pain and suffering that people had to endure.

Nice post Maddie! Smile Here are some facts about the Triangular Trade that I found on the internet:
- At least 28 million Africans were forcibly removed from central and western Africa as slaves.
- Africans usually refer to this as "Holocaust" but in Africa.
- Many African slaves committed suicide on the boats.
- Slaves were abused, whipped, and not fed properly during the voyage from Africa to the Americas.
- Africans were sold like cattle and were taken from their families by force.
- Many communities were hopeless and destroyed in this period in history.
- People lost faith in their gods.
