The Titanic is a very famous passenger liner known worldwide for its horrible collision with an iceberg. The Titanic was heading from Southampton, UK to New York City, US. Unfortunately, it sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April, 1912. It caused about 1,514 deaths, and it was recorded to be one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history.

The Titanic was the largest and most luxurious ship of this time, and her passengers included some of the wealthiest people in the world. It had an on-board gymnasium, swimming pool, libraries, high-class restaurants, and opulent cabins. Unfortunately, the only thing she lacked was the amount of lifeboats she was carrying. There were not enough for all of the passengers onboard. On 14 April 1912, she hit an iceberg at 11:40 pm. Over the next two hours, the Titanic was slowly sinking. Passengers and some crew members were evacuated in lifeboats, but many of those lifeboats were only partially filled. 90 percent of the men, mainly in Second Class, were left onboard due to the "women and children first " policy they had.

Just before 2:20 am, the Titanic had broken into two parts and sank. Over one thousand people were on that ship. Those who were in the water died within minutes due to hypothermia. The 710 survivors were taken aboard from the lifeboats a few hours later. Today, there are many policies that have been changed due to what had happened to the Titanic.
