The Inuits Empty The Inuits

The Inuits are a native group in the arctic and subarctic regions of North America. Their environment is icy, cold, and dark. This has shaped their culture into being grey, meat-eating, and more primative.

They used to travel with sleds being pulled by Huskies, dogsleds but modern technology has treated them with snowmobiles. Many people still use dogsleds up North, and there are dogsled races. That shows how modern technology has changed their old natural traditions.

The Inuit have a paler skin tone because their skin id deprived of vitamin-C. Their eyes are wide and small, a slight characteristic due to the hail storms, freezing eyelids and fluid sucking mosquitos. Many of them speak english, use computers and are well educated, they,re not old fashioned native.

Vegtables can`t grow in ice, or permafrost for that matter. Inuits have learned to live off of ice fishing, seal hunting, elk hunting and even occasional bears and wolfs. Seals are most often, they give fat meat and wonderful material for heat-keeping. Now a days Inuits use modern fishing tools, rifles and go to food markets.

Up North, there are schools, markets, hospitals, and workplaces. It is not an isolated nature snow land. There are cities, usually with people in the hundreds, but it is modern. They do still exist today, their ancestors crossed the ice bridge from asia and other lands, and now they use ipads, and still hunt for elk. They have a balance of their old roots and modern day conveniences.

The Inuit way of hunting seals was actually quite brutal before the use of rifles. They would typically use clubs and hit the seals over the head until they died. brutal, also being nomadic using dog sleds in that climate was actually quite efficient. Thinking of other places where there was nomadic people, traveling with sleds was much faster than say camels of the nomadic tribes in the Sahara dessert.

-The Inuit have a paler skin tone because their skin is deprived of vitamin C.
