You may think of them as the Indians of the cold. Probably the most insidious environment on earth, maybe more deathly then modern Africa, with Africa's extreme heat and floating disease with starvation. This blog is not about Africa it is about the north pole, but not with Santa clause. He would surely die in this climate with inexperience. In northern Canada live, the Inuit.

The Inuit are the natives of the northern territories of Canada. There are many theories on how the got there. They,re eyes resemble the characteristics of Asians, so there are hypothesis about them crossing an Ice bridge from Asia sometime between 2000 B.C.E and 1000. Some anthropologists believe that they,re eyes appear narrow, as an evolution trait, to avert hail, snow, the liquid sucking frost flies, and frozen eyelids to happen or go in your eyes. Hey, we know everyone came from southern Africa though, so the early humans either went to The north of Canada first, or to Asia and the first hypothesis happened.

Inuits are famous for their ability to survive in a surrounding of thin ice, dangerous animals, -60 and below temperatures, no farming and little technology. If an Inuit couldn't get home and the twilight was near , he would have to find an animal kill it, cut it in till the warm fat, organs and flubber was visible an d then crawl inside. That or attempt to build a fire. With both of these strategies, if you don`t succeed the first try, your dead.

Now the Inuit have more modern technologies. Some have company made clothing, some have snow mobiles instead of dog sleds. Most groups have satellite phones and bathroom facilities. Times are getting better, but know they are facing global warming, with thinner ice that has made the death ratio of falling through Ice so much more common. Up there if you fall in the water, it`s fatal. There will always be challenges, but the Indians of cold always survive.

I really liked your blog because you summarized it in what the Inuits were capable of doing that we couldn't. Like they're eyes evoluted to a narrow shape because of to avert and because of the climate.
