Global Warming, cause: Humans effect: earth destruction

Post  Paola fix on Sun May 01, 2011 5:04 pm

Global warming has been a slow process that we humans have created, even though the subject is discussed everywhere people still don’t realize the drastic effects that global warming is causing, and when we do realize, it will be too late. Most uninformed people don’t believe in global warming, one of these reasons could be because they have not been directly affected by it, they also might believe that these natural disasters occur as a normal activity on earth, this thesis is the opposite of what scientists say. Sooner or later nature will take action and give great evidence of global warming. Some of these signs are already happening, for example; the melting of glaciers, it has been reported that the glaciers have shrunk over the past 2 decades; not only are they shrinking but glaciers located in the low latitude are also disappearing, if the melting continues it will affect areas that depend on water supply from the mountain systems. It is asserted that by 2100, if the process continues, the majority of the glaciers will have disappeared.
Another major cause contributing to global warming is the sea temperature, the increase of sea level may cause temperatures to rise. Over the last decade sea level have increased, and will continue to increase. Beaches will have less water and some islands might also be under water!
Heat waves is another affect that global warming is bringing, periods that seem warmer than ever are usually signs of global warming taking action.
Seasons will be all mixed up, spring may occur earlier, the temperatures during night will rise unexpectedly, the earth will come across a more humid climate due to the increase rate of evaporation of the sea, this is expected to lead to more rainfall. Besides this, strong storms may also come as a regular climate. Many regions will suffer from dryness especially the ones that are presently at that stage. Not only will regions suffer but also the people, diseases will be easier to get, there will be a higher amount of health risks.
The reason why life started in earth was because of its global change 4.65 billion years ago, this is pointing out the fact that the earth has always been changing but as a slow process. However, now it could be changing in a bad way. Humans have to realize that every little thing counts, people have to learn how to be independent and figure out what is good and what is bad for the environment, or else we will experience changes that will affect us, and cause great damage to our only home, for now there is no where else we can go, so the best thing you could tell someone is to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Global warming is an issue that requires immediate attention and actions to stop it, or at least reduce its rate. Our everyday life contributes to the global warming by negatively affecting our environment. Truth is that every single person on this planet can do something to reduce it. Just simple things like using compact fluorescent light bulbs, less driving, using insulation in your house which will reduce the use of air conditioning and heating, resulting in reducing the emission of greenhouse gases. All these things can help reduce the rate of the global warming.

Global warming is a very serious thing.... for the future! As of right now, our generation is not really going to see the big disasters that it will cause. However it is our fault that global warming will be a factor in the future. For our next generation they will be effected for what we have done. However there is no stopping global warming (yet) so it is going to happen anyway. If it the next generation or the one after or the one after that it's going to happen so i think we should just accept that.

Global Warming is a terrible thing.. though from every bad thing we an always take something positive. Here are three "positive" effects of Global Warming:
-If the ice glaciers melt, the Arctic Ocean would be completely and it would create a new trade route from
the Atlantic to Asia. This new route can only be navigated during the summer,
but global warming could open it for the whole year.
- Since the temperature is going to be hotter, there will be
longer growing seasons. Plants like carbon Dioxide(CO2) and seeing as global warming is partly cause by CO2, this molecule would act
like a fertilizer for the plants.
- The death rate will decrease. Since there is going to be
more food available less people are going to die of starvation. Also, since the
temperature is going to rise, hopefully there will be less deaths during winter
time.
