Tsunami - giant waves. The damage caused by the tsunami, in many times bigger then by the earthquakes.
The word "tsunami" is translated from Japanese as "wave in the harbor. " Formerly called the tsunami "tidal wave", but now this term is not used by scientists since the tsunami have nothing to do with the tides.
Tsunami is form from a series of waves following each other. During the big tsunami waves can approach the bank for several hours.

Predict the appearance of tsunami is difficult. In some cases this can be done in a few minutes before it when the water suddenly recedes far from the bank.
With this knowledge, 10-year-old Tilly Smith from England has saved nearly 100 lives during the tsunami in the Indian Ocean in 2004. She read in the book about it, and told her parents, then they told their neighbors. After this incident in her honor was named an asteroid "20002 Tillismit.

Cool post:)
Are these like actually real pictures?
I have seen the last one before, I have heard that the picture was taken by a man who had a camera and when he saw the tsunami he knew he was going to die so he took the picture and a few day or even months after the tsunami had happened his camera was found. Obviously his camera was broken but they had the memory card and had found that picture. Im not sure if thats true... but if it is its pretty sad:(
