Hadrian, a Roman Emperor
Hadrian was a Roman emperor from 117 to 138 AD. He was the cousin of Trajan and also his antecessor. Hadrian is famous for building “the Hadrian wall,” which was located along the northern borders of the Roman Empire in Britain, and was used to protect against foreign invaders.During Hadrian’s reign there was only one war. As a Roman emperor, he rarely tried to conquer near lands, instead he focused on protecting the territory that was already conquered. He was known as one of the Five best emperors of Rome.
Hadrian was also famous for touring the empire. He traveled through Greece, Britain, and Africa. His major reasons for touring the empire was to strengthen the military and improve the infrastructure. Often emperors left Rome to go to war, Hadrian believed that it was a fundamental part of governing.
He loved Greek culture, architecture, and aesthetic so he built many temples and buildings in the Greek style. He tried to make Athens the cultural capital of the Roman empire. He developed a close relationship to a Greek youth named Antinous. Unfortunately, the boy mysteriously drowned in the Nile River. Hadrian was distraught and had Antinous deified and named an Egyptian city after him. The cult of Antinous became one of the most popular cults in the Greek-speaking world.
Hadrian died when he was 62, in 138 BC. It is said to be that he died
from heart failure.
I think Hadrian was a good emperor and so did most of the people in ancient Rome, the Hadrian wall avoided invasions from Britain. He was a bright emperor.
Q: Do you think Hadrian was a good emperor? why or why not?

Re: Hadrian, a Roman Emperor
Hadrian built the Hadrian's Wall to keep invaders out of Britain. He was one of the most influential roman emperors, so I do think that he was a good one.
