Anastasia Romanov: The lost Princess

Searching the net, I found this interesting topic about Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. Anastasia was a younger sister of Grand Duchess Olga, Grand Duchess Tatiana and Grand Duchess Maria, and was the oldest sister of Alexei Nikolaevich, Tsarevich of Russia. When Anastasia was born, her parents were kind of dissapointed because they wanted a male heir to the throne, but then Alexei came along. She was known to be the "prankster" of the family. She would always do anything to avoid school, even climb trees and stay up there unless her father made her come down. She was really close to her father, brother and her grandmother. Despite her energy, her health wasn´t always good. She had a deformation on her left foot and a weak muscle in her back.

The family was later told that they had to hide in Siberia because the Revolutionist were after them. Six months later they were asked to hurry to a basement because they were going to take their portraits but, wait ... It was a trick! All of a sudden, 11 Boshevik soldiers started to shoot the family. Her parents died quick, and the four princesses, still alive, were being stabbed after they were shot. After Anastasia´s death, there were rumors that said that a soldier felt sorry for her and helped her escape. Some say she might be alive and in hiding. Many women have claimed to be Anastasia, especially the famous Anastasia imposter, Anna Anderson. Scientists later found three of the four sisters along their parents, maid, and cook. Anastasia´s ans Alexei`s bodies where the only ones missing. However, on August 23, 2007, a Russian archaeologist announced that he had discovered two burned skeletons at a bonfire site near Yekaterinburg. The archaeologists said that the bones were from a boy who was between the ages of ten and thirteen years old and of a young woman who was between the ages of eighteen and twenty-three years old. Anastasia was seventeen years old when the assassination took place. Anastasia's elder sisters Olga and Tatiana were twenty-two and twenty-one years old. When they found the remains of the two bodies, archaeologists found "shards of a container of sulfuric acid, nails, metal strips from a wooden box, and bullets of various caliber." The bones were found with the help of metal detectors.
