Oleg Nikolaenko, King of Spam

You want to see a picture but you must register to do so. Almost every time, registering acquires your email. Now, after a few months, you have probably entered your email to multiple sites. Now, all of a sudden, you are getting junk mail consistently! As you may not know, but every time you enter your email to register to one of these sites, the site which you are registering to is in fact making money! These sites, take your email, see that it is being used on a regular bases, and give the email to a different company. Now the other company pays for lists of people's emails. Once they have all of these emails, companies which advertise, send them their advertisement to send to all of the recipients as well as some cash. Thus, making their company more known, since people looking through their email may stumble upon it. It's a easy, effortless way of making money when you have programs to do everything for you, so this is why spamming is so common. It's a pain in the butt for most people, because they don't want to deal with all of the spam in their emails. Also, spamming is ILLEGAL. On December 3rd, 2010, the FBI found a man named Oleg Nikolaenko, and suspected him of sending 33% of the worldwide spam. This means that if you have 10 spam emails, about 3 of them would be from Oleg Nikolaenko. He made a program which was capable of sending 10 billion emails per day. With all of this spam going around, he was making money! in a timespan of 3 months, he made $459,098. That's a lot for something which doesn't acquire much work!

Well to prevent any of this spam form coming in, don't subscribe to things that you don't know what they are or without reading the terms and agreements! This "kid" was a bright boy, but not bright enough to not get caught. but it still doesn't mean it was the right thing to do.
